Smoking deal on Zotac ZBOX HD-ID11-U

56-173-005-TS

This is a pretty slick box. For the next 2 days Newegg.com is going to have the
Zotac ZBOX HD-ID11-U
on sale for $249.99 with free shipping. This is a pretty great price, but it gets even better as they are going to throw in a 250GB Western Digital Drive and 2GB RAM (1 stick) which means you could get another stick for $38 and have a pretty nice system for under $300. This is bare bones of course with means you need to put it together and add the operating system, but it is a great looking machine.

  1. They also have the Giada N3 Cube for $149.99. It’s an Atom 330 w/ ION 1, which means no PCIe 1x bottleneck like the crappy ION 2. It also has an aluminum case, and reportedly runs really cool, unlike the Zotac, which reportedly gets hot to the touch. (Anandtech’s review of the Zotac reported temps over 70 C!) Add a 160GB 7200RPM Seagate Momentus drive, on sale for $35, and 2GB of RAM for $30, and you’ve got great system for barely over $200. Sale on the system and hard drive is today only, though, using promo codes published on the product pages.

  2. Oh yeah, and it also has wifi, but it’s b/g only. It wasn’t a concern for me because I ran a cable and put in an ethernet jack behind my entertainment center.
