Revo HTPC Setup Diagram

First off thank you to everyone that has written in, posted comments, or simply visited the page. There have been a few requests for a nice diagram of my complete setup so you can see all of the components. I put one together and I put it in the "About" section, but I will post it here as well. Enjoy:

  1. How are you using the harmony remote? The revo doesn’t have an IR receiver, does it? Or does the harmony come with one?

  2. Tom,
Sorry I have to re-write that part on the equipment page. Out of the box you can not use the Harmony remote with the Revo as the Revo does not have an IR port. However if you purchase a Media Center Remote they come with an IR USB Adapter. When you plug this into the Revo Windows will recognize it as a Media Center IR USB Adapter and then you can configure the Harmony to control Media Center. All you need to do in the Harmony setup is to add a Media Center Computer and when it asks for the model enter “Remote 2″ and it will come up. I hope this answers your question. I own the AVS Media Center IR Remote and the adapter works great with my Harmony.

  3. great job on the show. What did you use to make this setup diagram.

  4. I first started using Expression Blend Sketchflow for fun, then I tried Visio, and then just ended up doing it in PowerPoint. It was pretty simple, almost all my gadgets are on

  5. Thanks, Motz. I just bought the GP-IR01BK remote. Can’t wait to try it out. Loving my revo 3610 so far. Will be dumping my FIOS TV as soon as this snow melts (in MD). I’m running Windows Media Center, Hulu Desktop, Boxee, and XBMC. I also got an HDHomeRun. Peace.

  6. My cousin recommended this blog and she was totally right keep up the fantastic work!
